How to play Fantasy Premier League
FPL is the league's own free game: build a squad of real players and score from what they actually do on the pitch. This guide explains it from zero — every number below is read live from the game's official settings.
1 — Building your squad
- Pick 15 players with a £100m budget.
- Fixed quotas: 2 Goalkeeper, 5 Defender, 5 Midfielder, 3 Forward.
- At most 3 players per club.
- 11 start each gameweek: one keeper, 3–5 defenders, at least one forward — the rest sit on your bench.
2 — Every gameweek
- Before the deadline (usually 90 minutes before the round's first match): set your XI and pick a captain.
- Your captain scores double — the biggest weekly call. The vice steps in automatically if he doesn't play.
- One free transfer per gameweek; each extra costs 4 points. Unused transfers roll over up to a cap.
- Starters who don't play are auto-replaced from your bench, in order, after the round ends.

4 — Chips
Wildcard
Rebuild the whole squad free. Twice a season, irreversible once played.
Free Hit
A one-week team; your old squad returns next gameweek.
Bench Boost
Your four bench players score this gameweek.
Triple Captain
Captain scores ×3 instead of ×2 for one gameweek.
