After all 36 clubs learned their eight league-phase opponents, UEFA has now confirmed the full 2026/27 league-phase fixture calendar, giving us a much clearer picture of the road ahead.
The league phase begins on 8 September 2026 and runs until 27 January 2027, with every club playing eight matches before the competition moves towards the knockout rounds.
And under the current format, there is no need to wait until the knockout stages for heavyweight encounters.
Paris Saint-Germain face Barcelona and Manchester City.
Arsenal meet Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
Liverpool take on Atlético Madrid and Inter.
Manchester United face Bayern, Atlético and Roma.
With the dates now confirmed, the question is no longer simply:

First: How Does the Champions League League Phase Work?
The league phase features 36 clubs.
Each team plays eight matches against eight different opponents:
